Golden words from seniors

The guides tell you the rules. This is what it was actually like, from students who have already been through it, in their own words.

We are collecting them now

This page fills as seniors answer. If you have been here a year or more, the next student's first month can be easier because of five minutes of yours.

What we ask

  1. What do you wish someone had told you in your first month?
  2. What mistake cost you the most time or money, and how would you avoid it now?
  3. What got you through your hardest week here?
  4. One thing about studying or exams here that nobody explains?
  5. One sentence for someone landing in Padova tomorrow.

The form opens shortly. The link will be on this page.

What happens to an answer

  1. A person reads it

Every answer is read by a student on the team. Nothing is published automatically.
  2. The best are chosen, and kept in your words

Shortened if they are long, never rewritten into something you did not say.
  3. Your name appears only if you said it may

Otherwise it is signed “A senior”, with your degree and year if you allowed those.
  4. Nobody else is named

Advice about a landlord, a professor or a flatmate is kept; their name is not.
  5. Facts are checked

If your advice states a deadline or a fee, it is checked against the official source first.
